Sarah Lowell has taught ballet in both California and Washington for over 40 years, and has founded and
directed three youth companies. Initially schooled in both Cecchetti and Balanchine-based techniques at Oakland
Ballet, Berkeley Ballet Theatre, and Houston Ballet, she also had exposure to the British method while studying
internationally.
Later, while directing her own school in California, Ms. Lowell pursued and attained the Vocational Level teaching accreditation with the Royal Academy of Dance and is qualified to enter candidates both at this rigorous level as well as the more common children’s grades exams. Her desire today is to provide classical dance instruction and the opportunity to explore movement in a Christian family context and environment, and to create a friendly and welcoming place for all students of any faith background to discover the potential of expression through the fine art of classical ballet and other dance media.
The Royal Academy of Dance provides internationally recognized class syllabi that are developmentally structured for growing children and teens while setting excellent standards in training. Founded just over 100 years ago, the Royal Academy of Dance is the largest, most influential dance teacher training and examining body for classical ballet in the world, serving more than 250,000 students a year. CBA follows much of their method while exploring and developing a broader, more American style as students advance.
Celebration Ballet Academy is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, registered with the Washington Secretary of State as a trade name for Celebration Tabernacle, FEIN 46-1283464
